The Company

Our client is a global service provider supporting a range of industries in over 20 countries around the world. They have experienced amazing growth in the Australian market in the last few years, and cemented themselves as the market leader locally. Due to continued growth and secured projects they are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to assist the Project Procurement Manager for a number of projects throughout APAC.

The Opportunity

This is an integral role for the business supporting various stakeholders, responsibilities will focus on:

  • Preparing the project specific purchasing documentation
  • Preparing the vendor RFQ and compiles quotations
  • Preparing the bidding process and compiles the bid evaluations.
  • Participating in supplier auditing
  • Support or manage the project specific purchase negotiations
  • Purchase order creation, including converting requisitions
  • Purchase order status follow-up
  • Secures the Services aspect in project purchase negotiations and contracting
  • Is the link towards supplier during a project for day-to-day matters
  • Is the link to category management in project supplier issues
  • Manages the supplier invoices, guarantee issues and the claim process
  • Reports the supplier performance

Your Ideal Background

  • Experience in similar procurement gained in engineering/construction/mining or related environment
  • Strong SAP and Excel experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently and meet set deadlines
  • Effective internal and external communication and interaction
