Our global client who are based in Macquarie Park, urgently require a strong Database Consultant to help manage all Oracle and MS SQL Server Databases including coverage of application architecture and support.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of reliable, high performance relational Database management systems for core business applications
  • DBA tasks of Oracle & SQL Server databases including monitoring database and system performance, backups and developing/implementing disaster recovery plans
  • Implementing and auditing Database security
  • Modify existing databases and working closely with developers and analysts as required
  • Patch management for Oracle/SQL Server database and Oracle EBusiness Suite application and most SQL Server applications
  • Provide support to applications team
  • Backup SAN and Unix administration (Solaris) for on-call

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Min 5 years' experience as an Oracle & SQL Server DBA
  • Well-developed skills in one or more major operating system platforms such as NT, Solaris, Unix, Linux
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
