The Company
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Compliance Manager to join a well-known market leader in the general insurance space. This iconic brand is constantly at the front of their field and has been experiencing significant growth across APAC in the last 10 years. The Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, your focus will be to develop and maintain relationships with outsourced service partners, overseeing their adherence to agreed KPIs, compliance and risk management standards. Key areas include:

  • the timely implementation of the outsourcer monitoring framework including debrief/follow-up actions
  • coordinating each business area to undertake the scheduled outsourcer monitoring activities in accordance with agreed plan
  • Monitor, coordinate and assist the underwriting team to review underwriting agency/scheme underwriting guidelines/standards, procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements, code of practice and contractual obligations
  • Identify issues and manage these issues through to finalisation
  • Identify process and procedural improvement opportunities
  • Monitor adverse trends and work closely with all stakeholders to establish and implement corrective action where necessary
  • Plan and implement strategies to manage key business risks including loss of account, reputation risk and insurance risk
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with outsource service providers, customers, intermediaries and internal stakeholders
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and take proactive steps to ensure all outsourcing arrangements are compliant in conjunction with all stakeholders


Preferred Experience
The successful candidate will have the below experience and attributes:

  • Technical skills and qualifications will include a Finance related tertiary degree
  • 5+ years in a similar role, insurance or finance preferred
  • Experience with aspects of the regulatory environment (including developments in ASIC's guidance and APRA's standards)
  • Strong Excel & Report Writing
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
