About the Client and Role
Our client, a major global IT business, is embarking on a number of major database deployment projects, and, as a result, is looking for a C/C++ Software Developer with Postgres database experience to work on this exciting and challenging phase. This is a long term opportunity, starting on an initial 6+ month contract with ongoing extensions and/or conversion to a permanent position. It will be based in their North Shore offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with PostgreSQL community and other relevant stakeholders
- Work with a geographically distributed team
- Develop proprietary features and contribute to the open source world
- Work with the customer support team to solve complex issues when required
Experience/Qualifications
- 5+ Years of experience as a Developer
- C/C++ development experience. Must have used C language in last 3 years.
- Development experience for Postgres database (i.e. developing database features)
- Working experience for open source softwares
- Experience for working in Postgres community
- Hands on experience of Linux platform development
- Good debugging skills
