This Wollongong based Aged Care Provider runs a portfolio of retirement living and continuum care solutions. The Assistant Accountant role is responsible for supporting the Company Accountant complete the accounts for a single Residential facility.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this fast-paced, pivotal role, you will be a hands-on Aged Care Assistant Accountant with experience across all transactional and supporting reporting functions.
You will already possess solid financial Planning, Analysis and cross-functional business partnering experience, preferably within the Aged Care, Retirement Living or Community Services Sector.
Your duties will involve the timely and accurate completion of;
- Assisting with Statutory Lodgments and BAS lodgment
- Assisting with Year/Month-end Closings
- Assisting with Bond Management
- Debtor / Creditor Transactions including Collections
- Processing Purchase Orders
- Assisting with Payroll for over 130 staff
- Engaging with Residents in a warm and engaging manner.
You will be an independent, positive and strongly focused solution seeker. You will enjoy initiating strong coordination between the finance and facility staff and residents. You will be communicating clearly across the business, consistently in an upbeat. emotionally intelligent and culturally aware manner. You will not only strong in day-to-day operational accounting but also strong in identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes of work.
This role will require advanced Excel skills and a strong ability to efficiently navigate a mid-tier Accounting Package and other computer systems.
